Floods in Australia aftermath Debbie

The east coast of Australia is still struggling with the aftermath of the cyclone Debbie earlier this week went ashore in the state of Queensland.

The disaster area runs from the tourist 'gold coast' of Queensland to the state of New South Wales. More than 100 000 homes are without electricity. At least six major rivers burst their banks. People flee to the roof of their house and wait for rescue.

The police are reported to have recovered two bodies. They are the first fatalities of cyclone Debbie Tuesday as a storm in the second highest category of four coastal reaches a weakened thereafter. The authorities fear that more people have died.
