A swarm of bees caused a nuisance at the King Shaka airport in the South African city of Durban.

Because of the unusual destination of the bees, three flights were delayed, a spokesman for the airline said. Mango scattered via Twitter a photo showing how beekeepers the motor again free of. It was the first time that a flight from Mango had to be postponed due to such an incident.

Removal company A Bee C talked about a 'hectic' operation. This took a while before the team was allowed to work on the plane. Also, certain devices should not be used for fear that the device could be damaged.

An expert told News24 that the bees probably only made a stopover in the engine.
