Flanders sends first unmanned boat ocean

Flanders is going to have an unmanned boat cross the Atlantic.

On the way, Mahi will collect scientific data and send it via satellite. The tour lasts between eighty and one hundred days. Mahi is powered by solar energy and is four meters long. According to Flanders, Mahi is the first boat that autonomously makes the crossing.

The project is a collaboration between the Flemish government, universities, the Antwerp port and the common port company North Sea Port (Zeeland ports and the port of Ghent).
