Five severed heads found on roof car

Five severed heads of men were found on a roof of a government vehicle in the town of Tlacotalpan in the Mexican province of Veracruz.

A written message was found by the heads on which the initials of the gang were written. It is not yet known who the victims are.

Violent incidents such as these are not uncommon in Mexico where a bloody drug war rages for more than 10 years. In 2017, the country recorded a record number of deaths in violent incidents that were drug-related.

In the first six months of 2017 alone, more than 12,000 fatal incidents occurred throughout Mexico. The province of Veracruz was the crown here. Here the number of victims increased by 35 percent in a year.
