First arrest sexual violence Cologne
The German authorities this weekend for the first person arrested is suspected of having groped anyone from Cologne during the New Year night.
It is an unnamed 26-year-old asylum seeker from Algeria. He was arrested in a reception center in Kerpen, a half-hour drive west of the cathedral city. The man would have groped a woman and stole her mobile phone.
According to Justice 497 women have registered sexual violence. Until now, 22 people were arrested, all for non-sexual offenses.
