Fired Google employee to court

A former employee of Google has taken the internet giant to court.

Damore, he has filed a complaint with a court in San José, California. Software developer Damore was fired because, according to Google, he did not adhere to the code of conduct at the company. Damore internally opposed positive discrimination against women.

At the time, the software developer wrote in a memo that the lower number of women in the ICT sector and in managerial positions could be explained by biological differences. For example, women would have other interests. His memo caused a heated debate within Google and later beyond.
