Figurehead Yellow Hesjes arrested in Paris

A figurehead of the French protest movement of the 'gilets jaunes', Eric Drouet, was arrested in the center of Paris on Wednesday evening.

This was a demonstration for the police that had not been given permission. There can be a penalty of up to six months in prison and a fine of 7500 euros. The 33-year-old truck driver Drouet is one of the best-known faces of the spontaneous and chaotic protest movement that started on the internet in October. He was also arrested in December.
