Facebook achieves victory in cookie case

Facebook has in the United States a major victory achieved on a billion claim on the secret monitoring of Internet users' activities after they have logged out.

It is a complaint that was filed more than three years ago. A group of Facebook users pleaded that it accept the cookie policy of Facebook does not automatically mean that the social network also after that people are still logged may collect data. Their lawyers then came with an entire calculation of the damage that Facebook would have to reimburse everything together as much as 15 billion dollars.

But the judge finds that the complaining party has failed to demonstrate that users at all have suffered any economic loss. The parties still have over a month to review their claims.

Facebook has already let in reaction able to be satisfied with the judgment of the court. The company is globally engaged in several specific legal procedures.
