Explosion in Austria boosts gas prices

After an explosion and fire Tuesday in a large Austrian gas complex, the prices of natural gas in Europe have risen sharply.

During the explosion a dead person fell and another was seriously injured. Twenty others suffered minor injuries. According to the authorities, the cause is technical and has nothing to do with terrorism. The blow and the sea of flames were enormous and about fifty local residents were evacuated for some time. Austrian media reported that the gas supply in the Alpine Republic itself is not at stake.

But in Europe, gas prices rose on Tuesday due to the fear that the explosion severely damaged the infrastructure for gas deliveries.
