Ex-president not in Turkeys election battle

The former president of Turkey Abdullah Gül will not participate in the presidential elections in June.

Gül stated that he wanted to participate if he had a broad movement behind him. However, it does not happen, he notes. It calls the atmosphere around the elections 'negative. '

Erdogan has put forward the presidential elections and the parliamentary elections to be held simultaneously. These will now take place on 24 June and not in November next year.
