Everyone is welcome at funeral Muhammad Ali

Everyone is welcome at the funeral of Muhammad Ali, the legendary boxer who died over the weekend at the age of 74.

Thursday afternoon (local time) a prayer service will be held in the hall where Ali in November 1961 defeated his opponent Willi Besmanoff. The service has an Islamic character because Ali was a Muslim, but adherents of all religions are welcome.

Friday follows a funeral procession through his hometown of Louisville, and is retiring in a basketball arena. Former President Bill Clinton, sports presenter Bryant Gumbel and friend Billy Crystal will speak, and the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and King Abdullah II of Jordan. Following Muhammad Ali's body will be buried at the Cave Hill Cemetery.
