EUs cyber-crime to attack

European companies are consistently hindered by cybercrime.

Brussels joins forces with industry and governments because 80 percent of all businesses or have experienced problems with cybercrime. The number of cyber' incidents rose by 38 percent last year. It is vital to develop innovative and secure technologies, said EU Commissioner Günther Oettinger on Tuesday at the launch of the initiative in Strasbourg.

The EU puts 450 million euros in the joint venture, through the research program Horizon 2020. That amount should be tripled from the market.
