EU must do more to save Iran deal

The European Union needs to step up its efforts to keep the nuclear deal with Iran alive.

According to Mohammad Javad Zarif, political support alone is not enough. He would argue for further investments in Iran. According to the minister, the European support of the EU for the deal does not come in step with the threat of some large European companies to stop cooperation with Iran- for fear of US sanctions.

Tehran would insist on EU guarantees on promised economic benefits for stopping its nuclear weapons program. Among others, Germany, France and Great Britain have been fighting for the Iran deal since the withdrawal of America. China and Russia also want to preserve it.
