EU, Japan threatens N Korea with more sanctions

The European Union and Japan are ready to tighten sanctions against North Korea, following the recent missile test of the Stalinist regime in Pyongyang.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker and EU President Donald Tusk said Thursday in Brussels that North Korea sets the world for 'a new level of threat'. They condemned the test with a possible intercontinental rocket in the 'strongest possible wording. '

The leaders call on the UN Security Council to adopt the resolution quickly. And Pyongyang must refrain from 'further provocations that raise regional and international tensions' and stop its nuclear and rocket programs.
