EU asks Moscow to handle hunger striking director

The EU is deeply concerned about the health of the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, who is detained in Western Siberia and has been on a hunger strike since 14 May.

'According to reports, the health of Sentsov is rapidly deteriorating', said the spokesperson for EU foreign chef Federica Mogherini. She points to the 'urgent' appeal to the Moscow European Court of Human Rights more than two weeks ago to immediately arrange hospital admission. The judges in Strasbourg then also asked the director to accept a life-saving treatment.
