Escaped dog creates chaos at airport

A service dog escaped from a security company to great inconvenience caused to the busiest airport in New Zealand.

The dog Grizz hit Friday morning (local time) on the run after he was slightly startled. Employees of the airport in Auckland did spend hours trying to catch the frightened animal. When that failed, the police shot dead dog.

A spokeswoman for the airport told the New Zealand Herald regrets the death of Grizz. 'We have done everything we could to catch the dog, but it did not work,' the spokeswoman said.

The death of the animal led New Zealand to fuss. Safe animal rights organization called the shooting of Grizz unnecessary. According to the organization could have borrowed a tranquilizer of the local zoo.

It is still unclear why Grizz ran. A spokesman for the security company is currently chosen where the animal so startled.
