Erdogan: US attack on Syria was not enough

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan celebrated the missile attack on the United States on Syria Friday as a positive development.

The US fired in the night from Thursday to Friday off cruise missiles at a Syrian air base, from which according to President Donald Trump earlier this week was launched a deadly chemical attack. It was the first time that the US carried out a direct attack on the government of President Bashar al-Assad in the six-year civil war.

'We think it's a positive and concrete step against the war crimes of the Assad regime. Is it enough? I think it's not enough. It's time to take serious steps to protect the innocent Syrian people, 'Erdogan said during a visit to the southern province of Hatay. 'I hope that the active attitude that showed the US in Idlib, the beginning is related to such developments,' said Erdogan.
