Erdogan indicted for war crimes

On behalf of several German politicians, human rights activists and public figures two Hamburg's lawyers have filed a complaint against the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other Turkish officials.

The indictment of more than two hundred pages was presented Monday in Berlin. It is mainly about military intervention in the Kurdish areas of southeastern Turkey, particularly in the town of Cizre. In September 2015, when the state of emergency was declared, there were 21 civilians killed. Another weighty issue is the death of at least 178 people in the period from December to March, when it had a curfew.
