Ensure Colombia grows refugee flow

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos is deeply concerned about the ever-growing influx of refugees from Venezuela.

Santos is a guest in German at the 101st edition of the Catholic Day. He accuses the Venezuelan government of denying the chaos in the oil-rich country and thereby further deteriorating the situation. Because there is a lack of everything and still more and more people decide to cross the border with Colombia and to a lesser extent with Brazil. According to the authorities in Bogotá, there are 650,000 already.

'We are in solidarity with the Venezuelan people, but not with the predatory regime that causes this humanitarian crisis,' says Santos, demanding a political upheaval from the neighbors. He will certainly not recognize the result of the presidential election on 20 May. According to many, it is absolutely not free and, by definition, unfair. The victory of the socialist government leader Nicolás Maduro is almost certain.
