Election no solution crisis Catalonia

The political crisis in Catalonia can not be solved by simply declaring regional elections.

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy announced last week to dismiss the government of the autonomous region. There are also new regional elections. Spain wants to put an end to the Catalan independence movement.

'Everything is not solved by simply announcing elections,' said Rafael Catala. The minister called it a positive step when Catalonia's regional leader, Carles Puigdemont, came to the Spanish Senate to find a solution to the conflict between independence-leading Catalonia and Madrid.
