Elderly cycling star in danger after accident

OLDENZAAL

An aged woman on the bike was hit Friday critically injured in an accident in her hometown Oldenzaal. Police described her condition Saturday morning as life-threatening.

The 88-year-old woman was Friday afternoon in the Beatrixstraat hit by a taxi. Analysts of traffic accidents, the police took both the taxi and the bike for further investigation. The taxi was driven by a 25-year-old woman from Enschede.
