Egypt cut jobs from NGOs

Egypt has published a new law Monday, which strongly clogs the work of non-governmental organizations.

The estimated 46,000 NGOs in Egypt have a year to meet the new conditions. Otherwise they will be dissolved by the judge. Breach of the law imposes a maximum of five years imprisonment or 50,000 euros fine. Domestic and foreign groups may not conduct political activities and do nothing to endanger national security, public order, public morals or public health.

Human rights activists say that the new law makes NGOs practically impossible. The government accuses human rights groups for long periods of money from abroad to create disorder.
