Egypt claims to kill dozens of Muslim fighters

Egypt claims that military and security personnel have killed 52 militants in Sinai in recent days.

In February, the Egyptian army started a campaign against Muslim fighters in Sinai. According to the authorities, about three hundred militants have since been killed.

In the Sinai a group of fighters is active who have links with Islamic State. The extremists would be responsible for, among other things, an attack on a mosque on the peninsula in November last year. Because of that terror action in Sinai, more than three hundred people were killed.
