Ecuador opens humanitarian corridor to Peru

The Ecuadorian government creates a humanitarian corridor for refugees from Venezuela.

Hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans are currently fleeing hunger, misery and the economic crisis in their country. According to the United Nations, 2.3 million Venezuelans have left the country. The countries in the region are increasingly being attacked by the probably largest international refugee crisis in the history of Latin America.

Minister of Internal Affairs Mauro Toscanini announced that the more than 800 kilometers long journey from the refugees from the north to the south of Ecuador will be supported by the police.
