Ebola in Congo largely under control

The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is largely under control, reports the World Health Organization of the UN, the WHO.

The WHO looks at the situation with 'cautious optimism', even though in remote areas along the river Congo people can be infected that have not yet been found. The youngest outbreak has killed 28 people since the beginning of April.

The mortality rate from ebola is high. A quarter to 90 percent of the infected die. Due to a catastrophic epidemic in 2014 and 2015, about 11,000 people died in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.
