Earthquakes strike Lesbos and Turkish coast

The inhabitants of the Greek island of Lesbos on Monday rocked by a series of earthquakes.

Three quakes had a magnitude of around 5 and there were also eight earthquakes with a magnitude of between 3 and 3.9. According to the Turkish news agency DHA were five people in a village in the region Ayvacik slightly injured. Some houses and barns were damaged. The Greek authorities report no damage.

The center of the series of quakes was about 60 kilometers north of the town of Mytilene on Lesbos, at a depth of 2 to 12 kilometers.
