Driver smuggled 140 kilos of cocaine in school

A bus driver, who worked for a Romanian criminal organization, was Friday sentenced to seventeen years in prison roads smuggling 140 kilos of cocaine in a school bus.

British customs found the cocaine party when the bus carrying schoolchildren on June 6, arrived in Dover last year. They found the drugs in a protected part of the boot. The 53-year-old Romanian driver was arrested and the school pursued the journey to their hotel in taxis.

The driver claimed to have known nothing of the drugs. But tools were found during a search of the vehicle to remove the packages from the cargo area and adhesive was used to bond carpet in the room. He was found guilty on 15 October by a court on drug trafficking and Friday sentenced by the same court in Maidstone.
