Dozens wounded in Palestinian protest

At least thirty Palestinians were injured by shelling by Israeli soldiers at the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel.

Since the demonstrations started two weeks ago, 30 Palestinians have been shot and hundreds have been injured. Israel has promulgated an area ban in the vicinity of the fence and is using sharpshooters.

Palestinian demonstrators began the protest actions on the initiative of the radical Islamic Hamas, on the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of the foundation of the state of Israel. The demonstrators have set up tent camps a few hundred meters from the border with the intention of staying there for six weeks.
