The fighting would have lasted for over 27 hours and were reportedly mainly in a residential area for Afghan soldiers. At the airport are also foreign soldiers stationed but they were not involved in combat.Afghanistan's TOLOnews reported earlier that fourteen insurgents were slain. According to the news the fighters wore army uniforms stormed and they included houses and a school. The fight would have lasted long because the security forces wanted to avoid civilian casualties.
