Doubts about authenticity Hitler-watercolor

According to two independent researchers, the NIOD research institute wrongly concluded that a watercolor that was given earlier this year was 'almost certainly' painted by Adolf Hitler.

The NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies, as it is called in full, says that it takes the comments seriously and is open to reactions and critical comments. At the same time director Frank van Vree emphasizes that the question is whether it can ever be definitively proven whether the Viennese cityscape is or has not been painted by Hitler. The institute hopes to learn more through follow-up research.

Droog and Van den Born have experience with debarking claims about work attributed to the German dictator.
