Dogged Connie de Picciotto deceased

Concepción Martín de Picciotto had a unique record held 35 years she demonstrated outside the White House in Washington against nuclear weapons.

She was probably in the forties born in Vigo in Spain and moved as a young woman to the United States. In August 1981 she started under President Ronald Reagan to her long demonstration against nuclear weapons. Initially she was found on the pavement near the fence along the White House. Later 'settled' she Lafayette Square across from the resident of the US president. Over the years she was there to be found almost constantly, in all weathers.

She was sometimes arrested and put three months, but after her release she traveled immediately to the square. Over the years she was reluctant itself an attraction.
