Do not pause to South Sudan

Pope Franciscus does not visit South Sudan this year.

The church vulture would travel to Africa in October. The Vatican only knew Tuesday that the possibilities for a trip have been investigated, but that there is no longer a possibility this year. Franciscus himself earlier this year announced that he wanted to travel to southern Sudan. South Sudan is engulfed in a civil war, which killed more than 1.7 million people. In addition, famine occurs in parts of the country.

The eighty-year-old pope visits Colombia in September. There are also trips to India and Bangladesh on the program. The data are not yet known.
