Defeat May over Brexit

British Prime Minister Theresa May has suffered a sensitive defeat in the Upper House.

The opposition's proposal to adjust the 'departure law' was supported by a few conservatives. The last word has not yet been said. The House of Commons may reverse the adjustment at a later stage.

The Customs Union ensures that there are no physical boundaries between the EU countries. Being part of that union is important for, among other things, trade and the free movement of people.
