Death toll rises hostage Burkina Faso

The death toll from the hostage Saturday in a hotel and restaurant in Burkina Faso has risen to 28.

Among the dead are twelve foreigners. One of them is a 67-year-old Dutchman who worked for the non-profit organization PUM.

Hotel Splendid and the facing restaurant Capuccino Friday night was attacked by local terrorists of al-Qaeda. They shot first time around and then held the people hostage. When a rescue operation by security forces 156 people could be saved.

Splendid is with 147 rooms the largest hotel in the capital of Burkina Faso. Staying there many foreign businessmen and diplomats.
