Crisis Slovakia: president refuses government

Slovakia has entered a major political crisis after the death of investigative journalist Ján Kuciak.

Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini had to come up with a new government. He is seen as a stooge of Robert Fico, who, as prime minister and strong man, put the country on the map as an anti-migration party, but at the same time he turned out to be a polished politician in Europe, where he mostly voted with the European 'elite'.

Fico, now still party leader, stepped up after the murder of Kuciak and his girlfriend. The journalist was about to publish on links between Italian mafia and Slovakian politicians, some of them from Fico's entourage.
