Commission ensures transparency in Panama

The committee of independent experts who must bring order to the financial system of Panama, was appointed Friday (local time).

The committee consists, among others, the American Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz and former Panamanian presidents Nicolas Bardetta Nicolás Ardito. The experts must have done a report within six months.

The government took the action in response to the scandal surrounding the Panama Papers, which international media revelations do about tax evasion. They rely on leaked records of the Panamanian legal consultancy Mossack Fonseca amp; Co.
