Coast Guard Libya gets migrants from the sea

The Libyan Coast Guard has attracted at least 250 migrants from boats to the east of Tripoli.

The migrants reportedly tried to cross the Mediterranean on two boats. Employees of the coastguard said Sunday that one of the vessels sank and the other boat was overloaded. The coastguard also secured the bodies of two women who did not survive the crossing to Europe.

Saturday also went wrong off the coast of Libya. Then eight migrants lost their lives when their boat got into trouble. The Italian coast guard and navy could certainly save 86 people. Many migrants who try to cross the Mediterranean via boats come from Africa or the Middle East. For example, they flee poverty or armed conflicts.
