Climbers no longer just Mount Everest

People who want to climb Mount Everest and other high mountains in Nepal are no longer allowed to go up on their own.

An official from the tourism department in Nepal told the BBC on Saturday that several measures are being taken to make climbing Mount Everest safer. For example, foreigners are now only allowed to visit the highest mountain in the world under the guidance of a guide. This measure is also being implemented to provide more employment for mountain dwellers. Also, the blind and people with two or more amputations can not climb the mountain anymore.

Mount Everest is 848 meters high.
