Children Hands make batteries smartphones

Children's hands are involved in the production of batteries for smartphones and laptops from known manufacturers.


         More than half of the world's cobalt production is from Congo. Amnesty International does not exclude that the electronics manufacturer Apple, Samsung and Sony batteries in their place products made by child labor. The companies deny the charges.
According to the human rights organization the children living in dangerous conditions, they do not care and they earn a pittance. Approximately twenty percent of the cobalt production in the Congo comes from mines where children work.,, Millions of people make use of the new technologies, but they do not ask themselves how they come about, '' said Mark Dummett Amnesty.
The United Nations estimates in 2014 were in the mines of southern Congo around 40. 000 minors to work.
Amnesty International calls on electronics and car manufacturers do not use batteries or accumulators produced by child labor. The human rights organization calls for greater control of the small mines by the Congolese authorities. The Kinshasa government rejects the accusation of Amnesty. According to a spokesman, it is a 'trick' of other cobalt-producing countries to increase their market share.
