Ceasefire South Sudan after couple violated

The ceasefire in South Sudan has been short-lived.

The skirmishes took place around the city of Koch in the state of Unity, where there are rich oil fields. There are no reports about victims yet. According to a human rights organization, seventeen aid workers have fled for the revived violence.

A government spokesman said that units of the South Sudanese army suddenly came under heavy fire. Self-defense was shot back and the counterattack was opened. The insurgents claimed the opposite.

Since the end of 2013, civil war has been going on in the country after President Salva Kiir dismissed his deputy Riek Machar.
