Cancer warning at coffee in California

Starbucks and other coffee companies in the US State of California must now provide their coffee with an ominous warning against cancer.

According to the judge, the coffee companies have insufficiently demonstrated that the danger of the chemical compound Acrylamide is negligible. The substance is produced when burning coffee.

The coffee industry had been sued by a small non-profit organization. He pointed out that in California it is legally established that companies must inform their customers if their products contain substances that increase the risk of cancer. The companies have until 10 April to appeal.
