Canadian former hostage stuck in homeland

A Canadian who has been imprisoned for years with his family in Afghanistan is now stuck in his homeland.

Boyle, his American wife and their three children were released in October. The Pakistani army said it had released the family from the hands of terrorists. The couple had been abducted five years earlier while backpacking in Afghanistan. They had a meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after their rescue.

The Canadian would have committed the offenses between October 14 and December 30. It is still unclear exactly what happened. Boyle's lawyer pointed out that his client has endured many hardships and is innocent until proven otherwise. ' He has never been in trouble before, '' said the lawyer.
