Canada: basic broadband service

Canada has determined that broadband is a 'basic telecommunications service' '.

Besides setting minimum rates given the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission fixed broadband should offer an unlimited data connection. The latest in wireless mobile technology also should not only be available in homes and businesses, but also along the main roads of the North American country.

To achieve all this, the Canadian government 750 million Canadian dollars, more than 530 million made available. That money should be used over the next five years in areas that are still not operable to provide fast Internet connections.
