Cabinet looks fine discrimination internet

The government is due to consider a German law that allows hefty fines for social networks discriminatory remarks.

Block responded to questions from MPs during a debate on discrimination and racism in the Netherlands. CU MP Gert-Jan Segers called to investigate the government or such boetewet German model in Netherlands feasible and desirable. It has received support from the Christian Democrats.

In Germany, it is intended that social media such as Facebook and other Internet companies now take swift action against criminal statements or behavior, such as discrimination, threats, hatred and fake news. Otherwise they risk fines of millions of euros.
