Bus runs on parade in Haiti

Certainly 34 people late Saturday night (local time) killed when a bus arrived in Haiti crashed into a parade.

The bus was en route to Cap Haitien capital Port-au-Prince when the accident occurred. The vehicle drove into the village of Gonaives in a so-called 'rara' parade, where musicians play traditional instruments. They are given often joined by passersby.

The number of victims rose even as onlookers went after the collision with the ribbon. They threw stones at the bus and other vehicles. In addition, several people were wounded, said a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

The driver and the passengers of the bus were eventually transferred to a police station. The cause of the fatal accident is not yet known.
