Brr: eyelash extensions not without danger

A doctor at the American Orlando Eye Institute, pulls the bell.

Eyelash extensions start getting better and better. Long eyelashes have been in fashion for years. People see the 'fake hairs' more and more as a good addition to their own lashes.

Dr. Keshini Parbhu, working at an American Eye Institute, warns people about the extensions. The individually glued nephtails can attract mites. Especially if these are not cleaned properly. The doctor does this on the basis of a sample patient. The eyelashes of this girl, Ashley, were full of Demodex Mites.

The mites nestle between the hair follicles. If it gets too much this can cause infections in the eye. The danger lies with the salons where the application equipment is not cleaned properly.
