Brother-in-law of the Spanish king less behind bars

Iñaki Urdangarin, the brother-in-law of the Spanish king Felipe VI, has been a success in the appeal against his sentence for tax evasion and money laundering.

Both the Public Prosecution Service and the brother-in-law appealed against the sentence. Justice saw a fourteen-year and six-month sentence in its place, but fetched sail.

Former handball pro Urdangarin is the husband of Cristina de Borbón, the youngest sister of the king. The Borbón was acquitted of complicity in the scandal earlier this year.
