Bridge collapses under storm damage

The third storm in a month to keep coming throughout northern England breath this evening and tonight.


         The center piece of the more than hundred year old bridge in Tadcaster, halfway between York and Leeds, in the early evening succumbed to the damage the first two December storms and floods have inflicted.




  

A rescue worker and resident of the village thinks the bridge the huge amount of debris that its banks River Wharfe was carrying with him no longer cope.

The bridge was due to danger of collapse earlier closed to all traffic. What other bridges and buildings have been so badly damaged that they can not survive the new storm is unknown.
