Bombing on US base Afghanistan

Taliban rebels committed a bomb attack on a US base in the Afghan eastern province of Khost on Monday.

The attackers had a car bomb explode at the entrance to Camp Chapman, a facility manned by US troops and private military contractors, said a provincial governor spokesman. He did not immediately have information about any damage or victims.

A spokesman for the US Army in Afghanistan confirmed the attack with a car bomb. He said there were some Afghan casualties, but none of the American staff were affected.
