Black box recovered EgyptAir

Egyptian technicians on Monday successfully recovered the flight data recorder of the crashed EgyptAir flight MS804.

The two black boxes were heavily damaged and could therefore not be read. The memory chips from the recorders were then sent to France to be repaired. When both black boxes are recovered, they will be returned for trial to Cairo.

The Airbus A320 crashed on May 19 during a flight from Paris to Cairo with 66 people on board in the Mediterranean Sea. The pilots were rattled not report problems for the aircraft from the radar screens.
